To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. To enhance the development and
education of children under statutory school age in a parent-involving, community based
group. To work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and
families. To encourage children to be independent and have fun and friendship with children
and other adults.
A specially planned curriculum leading to approved learning outcomes. Individual care and attention. The
support of an individual Key Person. Opportunities for you and your family to be directly involved, in the
activities of the group and in your child’s progress.
We operate a Key person system which gives each member of staff particular responsibility for just a few
children. Each child in the group has one special adult to relate to, which can make the settling into the group
much easier. Each parent will know who their child’s Key Person is, and will be able to discuss their child’s
progress or any concerns they may have.
Bovingdon Pre-School was previously known as Bovingdon Voluntary Nursery School, formed in the 1960’s,
which also operated in the memorial hall. Bovingdon Pre-School was formed in the September 1996. Bovingdon
Pre-School became a company limited by guarantee in September 2005.
Due to continued success and
high demand, we are
encouraging all parents who
express an interest in sending
their child(ren) to our Pre-
School, to put their child(ren)’s
name on our waiting list, as we
are currently running at full
capacity with an ever
increasing waiting list. You can
do this by using the link/form
provided on this web-site or
call in and fill in a registration
form.

OFSTED February 2011: The setting provides effectively for children in the Early Years
Foundation Stage. An inclusive and welcoming environment is provided to all and a
committed staff team effectively implement the setting's policies and procedures to
ensure children are safe and their welfare is fully protected. There is a highly positive
and well established relationship with parents and carers ensuring each child's needs are
met. The setting regularly asks parents and carers for their views and ensures that these are used to inform
important decisions about the provision.
